The Chickasaw Garden at Oklahoma City University

The Chickasaw Garden at Oklahoma City University serves as the home to the Warrior Statue by acclaimed sculptor Enoch Kelly Haney.  A gift from the Chickasaw Nation to the University, the donors wished to place the statue within a site of honor that made viewing the sculpture its priority while creating a campus gathering place. Since it's completion the Chickasaw Garden at Oklahoma City University has been universally accepted  as a place to study, eat and socialize.  Any time day or night students, faculty, staff or visitors utilize the garden as a place of peace and reflection.  Once inside the garden the visitor is lead to the center of the circle to view the artwork.  From there benches invite one to stay, sit and contemplate nature and culture.  Art is appreciated and conversations are started amidst prairie plantings beneath protective pines.
