Founded in 2010, LAUD Studio has grown and matured into a collaborative design studio undertaking complex projects across the region. Our approach is to create dynamic and beautiful living systems mindful of the resources needed to create and sustain them. We encourage the prairie aesthetic as a viable urban landscape typology, and develop palettes of tough yet beautiful plants capable of providing all-year beauty with minimal care.
Natural Systems
Strongly rooted in horticulture and ecological design, LAUD Studio deftly inserts natural living systems into each project. From public parks to urban infill, green field to brown field, LAUD Studio utilizes its background in planting design to create comfortable places that attract visitors and provide a pleasing environment. Yet, underlying these places of beauty are additional layers of ecosystem services that allow the spaces to function ecologically and efficiently.
Design Process
We have developed a studio culture influenced by a design process where ideas are generated, tested, revised, and generated again. We diligently employ this iterative process through all project phases to identify the best solutions to design problems.
